Organization and its Betriebsrat

Any organization, whether big or small, is like a machine with different parts and segments. These segments work in complete coordination with each other towards achieving a common goal of the company. Although, in case of a company, each segment consists of a number of employees without which the segment would not be able to perform at all. Hence, it can be concluded that employees, no matter in which department they are working, are the soul of a company and without them the company would not survive. Hence, it is necessary for the company management to take care of the employees to ensure that the organization machine continues to function without any disruption.

To ensure that the employees are happy and satisfied with their position in the company, there are human resource departments with a special Betriebsrat. The people who are part of this Betriebsrat are responsible for maintaining the connecting link between the management and the employees. In some companies, there is no need for the Betriebsrat to deal with each and every employee individually. This is because of the labor and employee bodies that are there to represent the unanimous requests and problems of the employees. However, the Betriebsrat is still responsible to coordinate with the labor union body to drive the undisrupted flow of communication with the company officials.

Because of such an indispensible need of having a Betriebsrat in the company to handle the employees, it is necessary that only qualified and experienced people are included in the team. With good experience with the interaction and handling of corporate issues, the Betriebsrat members would be able to deliver the best possible results. This is important because even the slightest of miscommunication in a company’s order can completely break down the functioning leading to heavy losses. Such dreaded scenarios have been seen in the past also, where the angered employees would resort to mass resignations or strikes, bringing the operations of the company down. Hence, volatile situations such as these can only be dealt with by the Betriebsrat.

So, any organization which is looking to maintain a high level of equilibrium in the hierarchy needs to resort to the services of a Betriebsrat. Slight investment in hiring these people can ensure that there would be no losses caused due to employee dissatisfaction and miscommunication of any sort.
